The server should clearly announce the score before they serve. If there is a referee, players must wait for the referee to call out the score before they serve.
Please only call a ball out if it clearly is, if in doubt, the ball is in! All line calls are to be made by the players playing the game. No interference is allowed from the sidelines.
Please refrain from swearing whilst on court.
Please do not throw your paddle.
Be kind and respectful to each other.

Event format:

The Challenger League consists of 5 teams. On each regular season match day, 4 of the 5 teams will compete, with 1 team not competing on that date as part of the regular season rotation.
- March 15th - Torres Vedras Topspins will not play on this date.
- May 10th - Cascais Currents will not play on this date.
- June 28th - Estoril Eagles will not play on this date.
- July 26th - Douro Dinkers will not play on this date.
- September 20th - Santarém Smashers will not play on this date.
All players have been assigned specific match days. You will receive WhatsApp confirmation with the exact dates you are scheduled to play.
Check-in opens at 12:45pm.
The first match will begin at 1:00pm.
Each event will run until approximately 6:30pm.
Matches will be played one after the other. As soon as the previous match is completed, the next one will start.

Regular season match day:

On each of the regular season days, every team present will play every other team in a round robin format.
Each team will have a roster of 2 male and 2 female players.
A matchup between two teams will consist of a men's doubles game, a women's doubles game, and a mixed doubles game.

Game rules:

Mixed doubles:

Each team mentor will pre-select their mixed doubles pairings in advance.
For the mixed doubles game, a team will present a pair to start the game. Once either team reaches a score of 6, the remaining mixed doubles pairs on the bench will replace their team members on the court.
With this format, every team member from the squad selected of 2 male and 2 female players, will play in the mixed doubles game to 11.

Rally scoring:

The team that wins the rally earns a point, whether they are serving or receiving.
You can lose the game on your serve—points are awarded on every rally.
The team that wins the rally serves the next point.
Teammates alternate serves after each point while remaining on the same side. If a team's score is even, the player on the right side will serve. If a team's score is odd, the player on the left side will serve.
Teammates may switch left/right positions during timeouts and when changing ends at 10 points.
Standard pickleball rules apply to faults including non-volley zone violations.
